Help Desk

As you probably know, most of you are in the thick of campaign. This time of year means a very busy time for the Help Desk. When people contact us, they are typically in a crisis and need answers immediately. All Help Desk questions and issues are entered into our online system as a project and dispatched to the appropriate subject matter expert. Projects are handled on a first-come-first-served basis, although some projects do take priority because of the number of people (donors) affected by the issue.

To ensure prompt and fair service, please help us help you by providing us with as much information as possible. Creating a project using our online support center is the recommended and the most efficient communication method. Please ensure that you clearly state the urgency of the situation and give us as much detail as possible. Attach samples and screenshots where helpful. This will ensure your project is given the appropriate priority, it will eliminate the needless telephone tag to get the details, and it will ensure that the right expert is assigned to your project.

Leading Zeros

Many customers are having issues with leading zeros on SSN, Employee ID, and other numbers, when importing data into Andar. Example: An SSN of "0000001" gets imported as "1". This issue is actually with Excel. When you open the csv with Excel and then save it, Excel thinks the column contains numbers and the leading zeros are removed. Use notepad to open the file before and after Excel and you'll see.

Sharing User Ids

This is the time of year when your loaned executives (LEs) are busy looking up and updating accounts in Andar. Should they each have their own user ID and password or should they all share one? What's the purpose of a user ID and password? It's not only to prevent unauthorized access! The ID is for "identification". If everyone shares the same ID, then your audit logs will not be able to differentiate between your different LEs.

Who changed that address? Who added this note? Who added that verbal dollar? Only separate user ID for everyone will allow you to answer these questions. Note that Andar licensing is NOT determined by IDs, it is determined by the actual number of logins whether they are distinct or not.
